Tillandsia ionantha'Mardi Gras'
■ About Tillandsia ionantha
Tillandsia ionantha Is Tillandsia, which is distributed from Mexico to Nicaragua.
It is a representative and popular species of Tillandsia, and is widely known as airplants.
It is also sold at home improvement stores and 100-yen stores, and there are many opportunities to pick it up, but it seems that many of the items that have been in stock for a long time at non-specialized stores are weak. I think there are many people who buy such things and die, and think that "Airplants are difficult".
It is a very strong species by nature, and it is a Tillandsia that can be recommended to anyone because it is reasonably sized, has good flowers, and is easy to blow off.
Another reason for its popularity is that it has a wide range of distribution, and there are various mutant individuals and cultivars, and it is highly collectible.
The scientific name ionantha means violet, which is associated with the color of the flowers of this species.
There is no doubt that it is a fun kind that is strong, grows fast and grows fast. However, although there are some differences depending on the variety, it is often vulnerable to the cold, and in my environment, it goes out until the last minute of winter and it damages the leaves quite a bit.
I want to grow it beautifully.

■ Tillandsia ionantha'Mardi Gras'
It is one of the cultivars of Tillandsia ionantha. At the time of flowering, the leaves are dyed red like other Ionanta, but the way they are dyed is characteristic. As it goes to the tip of the leaf, it becomes bleeding red, and yellow is inserted in the middle, resulting in a beautifully gradation of three colors.
Even if I look up detailed information, it does not come out at all.
Mardi Gras means "fertile Tuesday" in French, the day before "Ash Wednesday", the last day of the carnival. It's kind of messy, but it doesn't seem to be related to this variety on the fertile Tuesday, and it seems that the city will be colorfully colored with purple, gold and green cloth to match the carnival that takes place on this day. For each color, purple means "justice", gold means "power", and green means "trust", and these three colors are called "Mardi Gras color".
The red, yellow, and green colors of this variety are likened to the Mardi Gras color.
Isn't it a very auspicious variety? Justice, trust, and power are like Futamura Plants. It's not.

The image is Mardi Gras which arrived from USA on September 26, 2018.
It seems that fertilizer is managed by dark light with a lot of fertilizer over there, and it tends to bloom immediately when exposed to strong light here.
Well, I didn't know what this variety was like, so I'd be happy to say that it bloomed early. The child stock will also blow.
Best The characteristic yellow gradation is very beautiful. I wonder if it can be conveyed in the image ...
