 It belongs to the Miosla group among the subgenus Diaforantema, which is divided into multiple groups.
 Andicola means andi (Andes Mountains) + cola (living things, inhabitants), and as the name implies, it means that it is native to the Andes.
 It is a relatively large species in the subgenus Diaforantema and is easy to clamp and grow.
